Expert: Sanctions not to stop Yandex from semiconductors imports
MOSCOW, Mar 31 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex will be able to buy semiconductors abroad with the help of the parallel imports, research agency Content Review head Sergei Polovnikov told PRIME on Thursday.
“It does not threat anything …Today’s news from MegaFon, for example, that MegaFon managed somehow to buy equipment for its cloud technologies in these hard times. What will stop Yandex from doing the same? Nothing,” Polovnikov said.
Yandex will have difficulties, but the situation is not serious, the expert said.
“The government issued a ruling on parallel imports yesterday. It means imports without any notification of the manufacturer. They will simply buy what is needed via a third party,” Polovnikov said.
Media reported earlier that Yandex may face a looming shortage of hardware following the U.S. sanctions.
